Pros

Pay is better than many comparable organisations, at least in head office. Sheer size of the organisation offers some scope for new opportunities.

Cons

Overly political in many parts of the organisation. Lack of quality leadership. Some people don't take the work as seriously as they should.

Advice to Management

Needs some stability now, and to focus on attracting and bringing through good talent, particularly on the younger end where the marketplace is full of overtrained graduates. Think carefully about how to retain and develop the best of these people. Rebranding was good and strong, but don't waste things like Creature Discomforts - there's still a place for it. If possible, make sure everyone at head office visits at least one service each year to keep things grounded.

    Pros

Job Satisfaction is immense. Its labourous and draining but satisfying. When our work has impact on quality of life of others, it cannot be measured.

    Cons

Slow Career growth, and high dependency on grants and funds. Always on the edge about being able to pull through another year , then another year and so on.

    Advice to Management

Sustainability is to be maintained. Staff welfare measures have to be bettered as compared to most. The leaves and other benefits also required. The job is permanent but contractual in nature, so job insecurity is always there. This has immense impact on one's performance and personal life.
