I worked at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy to advance to higher positions in the store associate track. There are a lot of stores, so you can work in many locations.

    Cons

-Managers are expected to work ridiculous hours with no overtime pay.
-Once you reach store manager, moving up can be almost impossible.
-Meeting your average per customer ($50 min.) is all that matters to higher ups.
-No commissions for lower level employees, and all lower level employees are let go at the end of the season.
-Low quality products sold at prices which are way too high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please motivate your workforce by providing better incentives. Commissions should be higher and store managers should not have to work so many hours.

Summers are busy with non-stop customers, while fall and winters and slow and uneventful.

I have been working at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You'll be working by yourself for hours during the winter, but expected to do little things that don't make a difference in the long run. During the summer, don't expect your legally mandated 15 minute breaks, as a low number of employees keeps you busy with a high number of customers

    Cons

You'll be working by yourself during the winter with very little customer interaction, it is quite maddening. You'll work ten hours a day, sometimes with only 5 customers for the entire day. Raises are few and far between, even with a promotion you get a minimal raise of 10%.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You keep talking about how much money your company is making, 600,000,000/year, you can share the wealth a little bit more and you may be able to hold onto more employees instead of having a high turnover rate.
