Level 3 Communications – “Level 3 has great potential.”
0 of 3 people found this helpfulPros
Level 3 has a solid reputation in Colorado. It offers great amenities for employees including fitness facility, onsite cafe, two Starbucks coffee stations, concierge service, massage therapists, hair cutting service just to name a few. They also have a very nice work environment. Most all employees have an office with a door, coffee/tea service is provided for everyone and many departments provide additional refreshment items. I chose to work for Level 3 because the company has huge potential for growth, offers a very competitive salary and benefits package, and provides for a good work/life balance. Most of the senior staff has been in place since the start of the company and that provides for a lot of stability at the helm.
Cons
Level 3 has had to layoff employees after numerous acquiring eight companies over the course of about 24 months. This has taken a toll on employee morale and many employees have had to adjust to significant change in the way they perform their jobs, especially if they came to Level 3 via an acquired company. Level 3 has faced many financial challenges and has had to restructure its debt. This focus on the financial health of the company and on the falling stock price has been a distraction for a lot of employees also causing some morale issues and dissatisfaction with leadership.
Advice to Senior Management
Let's make 2009 our best year ever!

Then its lunch time and off to the food court.
There are so many middle managers Level 3 needs to have these on site places for these managers to hang out.
Never seen a company with such a high percentage of middle managers.
