I worked at Level 3 Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

You'll earn over £100k without doing much. Friendly, professional people. Some very capable individuals. You're an incumbent utility provider so once services are in customers won't usually go anywhere. Better admin than most London telco (who are generally very poor).

Cons

You'll work super hard and not be about to earn much over £100k. You will spend soooo much of your time fighting process. It is near total insanity difficult to get even the most simple things done. With the amalgamation with GC, this is only likely to get worse.

Advice to Management

Make it a meritocracy in sales where achievement is rewarded. Remove the red tape.

    Pros

Solid pay, work from home option is nice. Everyone gets thier own office as well. Solid product set. Good people to work with.

    Cons

Still kind of disorganized due to history of acquisitions. Global Crossing addition probably playing havoc on organization. A whole lot of debt.

    Pros

    Nice campus and fun people.

    Cons

Unrealistic management expectations, no clear accountability, duplicative roles, too many executive reports required too often.

    Advice to Management

Define goals and objectives upfront, then proceed with a program.
