I have been working at Level 3 Communications as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

You get to work on a team of professionals who like to get things done. You aren't the typical 'get the coffee' intern. There are various responsibilities that the intern must perform from billing to contract analysis

    Cons

Because Level 3 is a big company, it is sometimes difficult to get information from other departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce the amount of systems in use.

I have been working at Level 3 Communications full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with from Global Crossing. 30% of people from Level 3 worth working with.

    Cons

    Company is grossly mismanaged fiscally.
    Company policies promotes poor behavior.
Company culture promotes backstabbing of co-workers at all levels.
Management promotes adversarial attitude between co-workers and other departments.
Good honest effort is not rewarded and can actually be punished.
Company policies focus on paperwork more than on customer service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to run a company and pay attention to the feedback of employees from legacy Level 3 and acquired companies. The Red way is not always the right way.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
