Pros

Level 3 offers a very solid tuition assistance program. There are opportunities for advancement in different departments as well as around the nation. The overall culture is that of a 'can do' attitude. The expansion over the last 7 years is an indicator that the leadership is striving to keep forward momentum.

Cons

Level 3 is bound by the economic environment as are many American companies. Level 3 continues to strive to avoid the unfortunate decisions that must be made when the economy slows.

Advice to Management

Overall, this is a good company to work for. It suffers from the same issues that most companies dependent on the economy suffer from. Level 3 still remains a place where individuals can grow and develop while contributing in the growth of the company.

    Pros

Work-life balance, innovative technologies, great people, on-site gym, nearby trails and paths, worlds largest IP network, and finally a focus on the bottom and top line revenues.

    Cons

The company some times struggles to prioritize IT deliverables, and IT suffers with morale and quality issues. Too many layers of management and architecture in IT and too little doers.

Strong collaboration and great place to learn but disjointed management

    Pros

Strong culture of collaboration. Great place to learn a lot of new skills and about the telecommunications industry. On-site gym is a nice perk.

    Cons

Middle management manages upwards. Upper management isolated from employees and quick to engage in frequent RIFs that disrupt releases and team morale.

    Advice to Management

Try and ride out the slow quarters instead of laying people off and killing productivity.
