I have been working at Level 3 Communications full-time for less than a year

Pros

Flexible work option, decent co-workers, decent management. Not afraid to embrace new technologies.

Cons

Worker morale is low. Most of the work seems to be integration issues, no "new" development. Company seems confused about where it's headed. (probably reflected in the stock price)

I worked at Level 3 Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good compensation and benefits. Very good network and some very smart technical people work at Level 3.

    Cons

Incompetent management team. This company has never made a profit but is still in business. If the managers make a mistake or provide poor leadership you can't say anything or you'll get fired or given a poor performance rating. Only people with connections are promoted. There are many Directors and VP's who are not qualified for their positions. Many incompetent people work there and can't lose their jobs because they're connected. Worst company I've ever worked for or been associated with. The Broomfield office is full of strange people who are out of touch with reality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break the company apart and sell the pieces off. Too much debt and the management team doesn't know how to make a profit.

I have been working at Level 3 Communications full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There are none pros to this company

    Cons

This is the worst company ever to work for, they work you 6 days a week dont want you to take lunches, its all about numbers and revenue. There is no work life balance, they expect you to work long hours with no overtime pay because your salary. Upper managment doesnt care about anyone but themselves and saving their butts. Every month its work harder than the last and more pressure, more stress, and more people getting fired, laid off, or leaving. Level3 is broke I dont see how they are stil operating. WORSE place ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your employees and they will take care of you. Too top heavy work along side employees instead of delgating
