I have been working at Level 3 Communications full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Level 3 is one of if not the largest and most well known telecom world wide.

Cons

Too many mergers have caused a conflict in work ethic. Telecommuting is frowned upon and employees are expected to work every hour God sends without hesitation-- all for average salary.

    Pros

    The diversity of the set of technologies that were used made for a challenging and interesting environment. Helped to build a solid understanding of core internet systems ande structure.

    Cons

    Many legacy platforms and tolols that are used internally can lead to frustration. Somewhat rigid management structure can add to this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Many of those tools can be replaced with off the shelf software that will fulfil the functionality while being more flexible for the average worker. Dont be so afraid to change.

    The team members I worked with and money not bad

    Cons

    No management
    No communication!!!!
    No real training
    No idea what their staff do
    Expect you to work well past your finish time with no pay
    Don't listen to staff when they are the people who do the job
    Lost all the staff who knew what they were doing and employing people who have no idea about the job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your people, they know what they are talking about. Maybe you should be finding out exactly what they do as you appear to have no idea
