I have been working at Levenger

Pros

The culture is exceptional. The people are wonderful to work with because they not only provide support but friendship as well. They care and they listen to what you have to say; everyone is treated equally.

Cons

Sometimes the work becomes tedious and the programs they use are extremely slow so it takes time to finish a project.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It seems that some people in higher positions do not understand that they are imposing themselves upon others. Sometimes they drag on meetings because of personal stories and such, which none of the other workers care for.

I have been working at Levenger

    Pros

Levenger believes in giving customers the best in customer service, so when a customer has any problem, reps are "empowered" to solve that problem. Reps have the authority to enact any number of creative solutions with little interference. While not all reps have a strong desire to take the customer's side, company policy is for them to put the customer first. For those who truly do want to be a customer advocate, having the power to do so minimizes stress and frustration. It is a pleasure to make the customer's day. It also eliminates a customer's need to rant. Upset customers can be turned into pussycats almost immediately, and a pleasant exchange ensue while doing the work necessary to provide the replacement orders, or return labels or whatever the customer needs. I've been impressed at times that products found to be shoddy are quickly removed from inventory.

    Cons

The most common objections I've heard have been about the low pay. Reps are expected to take and pass a lot of online testing, keep up with and email reports to their manager about every minute they are not "on ready" to take an incoming call. These emails must account for any and all time, even when your manager (or other managers) have assigned or requested off phone projects. There is also a lot of miscommunication, with managers having different agendas and putting employees in the middle. Employees who strive for excellence in their work may be frustrated with the lack of professionalism among their coworkers. While the worst of the worst are now gone, the company tolerates a lot of outrageous behavior from reps in order to avoid lawsuits, all at the expense of the customer. The reps who are professional must pick up the slack and do the work that was promised but not done by the deadwood. There's a lot of ego in upper call center management. It's hard to please a manager who puts ego above the needs of the customer or overall morale of the staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay a higher wage and require a higher level of professionalism. Reward the employees who take their jobs seriously and who consistently go the extra mile.

I worked at Levenger full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a casual environment with nice people. It's small and a great incubator for people who want to move on with bigger things. Products are lovely, fun to sell. I learned a lot here.

    Cons

Antiquated equipment and technology. Outdated thinking. Unwilling to invest. Insular. No room for growth...unless you go to another company, which isn't so bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Training. Get with the times.
