I have been working at Levi Strauss

Pros

people. casual workplace. creative energy.

Cons

shifts in org, leadership, business strategies. so much that it's impossible to gain ground professionally. many re-orgs leave employees deflated, unempowered and fatigued.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

pick a lane and stay in it. drive the ship with confidence. own it. get rid of the self inflated hipsters that believe they have all the answers. listen to your core consumers and go back to the basic fundamentals that made this company amazing.

I have been working at Levi Strauss part-time

    Pros

The customers tend to be higher-end, so they're often easier to work with; the flipside is you get entitled jerks who think they can be rude to retail workers. There's pretty good flexibility if you're going to school.

    Cons

Depends completely on management. Even within stores, how well your shift goes depends on who you're working under that day. Workers have to get used to quirks or specific complaints of whoever the shift lead is.

I have been working at Levi Strauss part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-Free outfit when you start and one free jean each year.
-I love the team i work with (for the most part).
    -thats it.

    Cons

Nothing but reorganization every year... upper management is selfish, unrealistic thinking, and often rude to those under store manager level. pay is garbage as well as the so called "raises". too much favoritism. too much external hiring and not enough internal promotions. Allocation is a joke. The employee discount is a joke. The computer system (Raymark) network is constantly going down and the ancient scraps they call computers are terribly slow and unreliable. Bad turnover rate...and the worst is being made to play the bad guy and do corporates dirty work by cutting hours, cutting shifts in the middle of the week, giving a lot of associates 0 hours in a week and then explaining it to the staff. Very low or no incentive for part time hourly employees but constant bombardment with high expectations and goals with little support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Structure and move on. increase support managers pay rate, we work very hard for you and get the short end of the stick. Regain your core vaules and show some *Empathy* towards the teams that are struggling and trying their hardest. Stop changing DM's like you do your underwear. Offer competitive prices and better promotions. Provide your staff with some kind of positive feeback not just numbers and goals. Do the right thing.
