I have been working at Levi Strauss full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Levi Strauss offers an amazing opportunity to be a part of a significant global company with much loved brands. The community values are outstanding. The people at the company are great- there is a lot of talent both with new and very tenured employees

Cons

Constant leadership and organizational changes destabilize the business and have led to low morale. Very little work life balance. Layoffs have been constant over the last few years with no end in sight.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop looking to external consultants to solve issues. Utilize consulting fees to reinvest in business driving programs and building internal development opportunities.

    Pros

It's a good place to work to develop good sincere genuine customer service. They provide you with all company and product history and knowledge so as to give you the means to know and build a customer relationship. As the leading manufacturer in denim it's a good place to start for something in the fashion or retail field. Also they provide good benefits and help for those going to school, going through grievances, HIV/Aids, and community work.

    Cons

In my opinion when working at an outlet you don't get as much room to move up through the company if not by sheer luck. That is if you are looking for a long time career here. The pay is cheap within the company and the hours can get pretty small at times when you are depending on a paycheck. The company can and will cut corners literally wherever and whenever they can. I say this is mostly a job to get by whether it be while going to school, passing time while you are trying to find another job, or start your career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to really value and reward your longstanding good employees. Not just give any schmuck a job because they are cheaper to pay, because the job will be done half as good and hurt the store in the long run.

Iconic brand with a great heritage. Talented colleagues, dedicated culture of giving back to the community. Solid work-life balance and generous benefits.

    Cons

Structure can be overly complex and sometimes teams in different business functions could be better connected.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company could do a better job promoting from within and fostering talent.
