I have been working at Lexington Medical Center

Pros

great benefits, a lot of paid time off, easy to request time off, decent management, they are very fair. everything you purchase at the hospital is pay-deductable. Pay rates are very decent. part time employees are always offered extra hours when others need off.

Cons

sometimes understaffed. training was not sufficient enough.

Nice place to work if you can afford it

I have been working at Lexington Medical Center

    Pros

Wonderful co-workers, and beautifully taken care of facility and grounds. There is enough parking and the food in the cafes is affordable and tasty.
Co-workers are courteous to our patients and their families and anxious to provide excellent care.
Co-workers are respectful to each other and are team oriented.
Medical equipment is excellent and well maintained and updated regularly.

    Cons

Wages are at the low end of the range. New employees are starting at higher, market level salaries and long time employees (5+ years) cap out their salaries.
We do not get cost of living raises and are often paid below the new hires rates.
However, this hospital does give bonuses each year!

We are starting to lose new candidates to other hospitals because our starting pay is below the market value, even though they just announced their most profitable year ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make salaries transparent so everyone knows what grade ranges go with what jobs.
Create regular step increases and/or cost of living raises.
Get out of the administrative offices and out on the floors and in the halls.
Eat in the cafes and join our tables so we can get to know you.
Hold open office hours once a month for a set time so that we can bring our concerns/ideas to you.
Get rid of the physicians lounge and have them eat in the cafes as well to promote a team spirit instead of a them vs. us mentality
