The overcrowded cubicle farms are terrible for those working in collaborative or creative fields.

Pros

The coworkers and management were nice and intelligent. The new gym, while small, is uncrowded. There was a variety of projects to work on. Close to King's Island.

Cons

The buildings' decors were pretty depressing. This place is very overcrowded. Its hard to get excited about legal products. They absorb so many companies that the hierarchy is a mess. Lots of redundancy. Not efficient.

Legal was a good place to work, however the Risk/Government lacked class solid organizational leadership.

    Pros

Lexis has a strong brand in the market and was once a very employee friendly place to work. Benefits and compensation are above average and continuous learning is valued.

    Cons

Lexis restructures far too often, creating client and employee churn. They create impossible goals, split accounts and move revenue to appeal to Wall Street, but have missed the mark for the past 5 years. The Legal division is a class organization, but the Risk/ Government group is very unsophisticated with egomaniac leaders. There is very little consideration given to work & family balance and they drive workers like used car salesmen. The overall reputation has taken hits and sales are suffering.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to your customers and their needs over how many more ways you can restructure the business.

    Pros

Diverse opportunities throughout the organization - from IT, to sales, marketing, data mining, project and product management, customer service and support - there's a lot to do here.

    Cons

Bachelor Degree might get you into sales or Customer Support, but anything more than that the premium is on an advanced degree - MBA, and especially, JD. If you only have a BA or BS, you're only going to go so far.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are plenty of capable folks in your employment who don't have a JD or MBA, but have plenty of experience with the company. Management can do a better job of giving these people opportunities throughout the organization.
