I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional

Pros

A true devotion to making the communities and countries we work in a better place; a very good work atmosphere and my boss is the best.

Cons

Senior executives, despite the use of the term "Employee Engagement," are not engaged and the perception is they are not only out of touch with employees but the industry. A refusal to invest in the basic infrastructure that provides employees and customers with an average-to-good experience in using our systems.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please either drop the "employee engagement" campaign or put your best effort behind it. Find some way to upgrade our infrastructure to be able to provide customers with a robust user interface and employees a system that doesn't crash or time out.

    Pros

Very large company with strong performance in some divisions. Benefits are excellent, i.e., insurance.

    Cons

Due to the size of the company, it was difficult to be recognizable, even for high performance individuals. The company does not promote from within well. It appears that any promotions are very political. Very poor, inexperienced management, immediate up to VP of Sales. Process are scattered and unorganized. Customer serivce and other support teams are lacking in response time, professionalism and follow through. No flexibility in time off, or recognition of family life. Hard driving with very little organization. No leadership direction due to high turnover in top management, i.e., 4 EVP's of Pre-employment screening in 13 months. Division is struggling and running to stay afloat, and not doing it well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a closer look at management.

    Pros

benefits, location good core group of workers

    Cons

senior mgt was not honest with their intentions and remaining workforce is being run into the ground

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to AIG where you belong. The NYC style and attitude do not fit in with midwestern values. This company has been dessimated and the talent loss is so great, that if things go wrong, they might not get things back on track. Outsourcing may not have been the great idea everyone thought it was a few a years ago, eh?
