    Pros

Great subsidized facilities (restaurant, gym) at the European HQ, dynamic environment, plenty of smart human beings with energy, drive and vision.

    Cons

The company lacks real customer focus - they've done wonders at the front-end call centers, etc. in recent years, and the product development teams do their best, but the company's strategy is not really about its products. Senior management is 99% focused on the financial markets, managing debt, and staying a whisker ahead - no real customer or innovation focus. The actual culture and practices are mostly conservative and wasteful. There are signs of this changing in some parts of the organization, but in my experience most employees are highly cynical about implementing new ideas and genuine change.

    Advice to Management

Focus on building a Lean organization, that is geared towards learning and continuous improvement. Get close to the shop floor, open your minds and hearts to what's really going on, and build relationships of trust with your staff.

  2. Stressful environment, variety of people

    Pros

    - A good place to start
    - Good compensation, benefits, bonus program
    - Opportunity to work with many different technologies
    - Skilled employees

    Cons

    - No clear objectives
    - No time to focus on anything important
    - Exhausting on-cacll shifts
    - A lot of stress and noise as if they never dealt with a situation
    - No documentation, unstructured knowledge, many single points of failure
    - Some people in management are from another planet.
    - Many people resign after a short period of time
    - Atmosphere that causes a lot of conflicts between employees

    Advice to Management

There are many capable hands within the company. Give them something interesting to do. Create a clear structure and define the levels. Stop hiring overqualified people to do monkey job or give them responsibilities on their level.
