Pros

Cooperative and competitive work environment - many of the older staff members are very friendly and help you out along the way Great benefits and compensation Gained solid exposure to the insurance industry They love to hire from within - interns have great potential for a full-time job Solid company positioned for strong growth

Cons

Often times, did not have much to do. Not always a bad thing, but what I really wanted from an internship was to gain real-world experience. However, this is just for the position. When I spoke with other interns from different departments, they were extremely satisfied with the learning experience.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work

    Pros

You have the opportunity to make good money and lots of flexibility. You also do not have to pay overhead like other agents for other companies do.

    Cons

Sales never stops. Constantly have to resell the company when they raise rates without sending out notification to clients why rates are going up. Won't make as much as independant agents and you do not own your book of business, so when you leave you can't take it with you and are not allowed to contact the clients for 2 years.

    Advice to Management

Help head off complaint calls by explaining rate changes to customers rather than having call after call come in. Service can then focus more on actually assisting clients rather than repeating the same thing over and over all day long.

    Pros

Treat their employees extremely well. I got to do actual work rather than minor intern work such as making copies.

    Cons

Work can sometimes be boring. Internship was not very structured.
