Micro managed call center, but steady secure work.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

15 days off plus 4 floating holidays, coworkers, 401k match, paid training, room for promotion. Paid bachelor or masters after 1 year.

TM's seem to understand the common frustrations, but are given their orders from higher managers and are just as micro managed as the reps.

Suggestions from entry level employees are reviewed and added to workflow.

    Cons

If you spend more than 2 minutes or so completing work after a call, you will be emailed from a manager wanting to know why you arent answering another call.

You are assigned claims with your info given to customers that you are their adjuster, then your file depends on others who take a call from them (very rare to handle your own claim) to do the correct thing. The customers can also leave you a message, but you might not be able to return it depending on call volume, then at the end of this horrid process Liberty expects to receive high scores on customer surveys.

No extra pay for having a degree unless you are an advanced college hire. Cube walls are set up are so low, customers will hear and comment on the surrounding conversations.

    Your lunch changes almost everyday.

People dont always handle all aspects of a call, stemming mainly from the pressure/frustration to keep an aux time low (time off phone).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The way we handle claims may seem good on paper, but the practice is terrible and leads to very sloppy work. The team environment is just leading to poor quality, and the customers vent the same frustration to the reps.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, great training, helpful co workers

    Cons

Expect business to be built on "quality of products offered" and not price. Build entire book of business on your own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more involved in creating events, opportunities for sales reps
