Current Employee - Sales Representative
Current Employee - Sales Representative

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Good base salary, which is rare. Very good training. In house leads. Orphan accounts to cross sell to.

Cons

Poor renewal commissions. Frustrating life insurance process.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do more to keep sales reps within the company. Most of the good reps look to leave after three or four years.

Former Employee - Senior Sales Representative in Tracy, CA

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very extensive training program (you get to travel out of state for training)
Company issues lots of resources to succeed, laptop, cell phone, lead sources etc.
This is generally one of the better insurance companies when it comes to general treatment of sales people.

    Cons

Compensation plan could be ALOT better.
Very long probation period upon hiring lasts for 2 years.
Certain prospecting methods are archaic and outdated.
Some of the policy writing software is outdated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in true sales manager to manage branches. You can't put a former customer service manager who has never worked in sales before in charge of a sales team. Also management style is old fashioned company needs younger sales managers who understands the economy and keeps focus on the bottom line.
