Started out great but turned into micromanaging beyond anything I've ever heard of with other companies.

Pros

benefits from day one, bonus for making sales goals, free coffee and tea lots of vacation time. System upgrades, dual screens. Get to talk to people all over the country.

Cons

You can not use the vaca time if you are not pro-rated so many people lose it at end of year. Management does not care that there are sales people cheating to make goal. You have to make up cancels first before your sales count towards goal. Every 1/4 they find a few new reports to add to your daily key metrics that will need to be met. Many system workarounds to get the job done. Phone Queues are not equal for everyone.

Advice to Management

F a i r n e s s . Please treat all sales and for that matter the entire office the same. Do not make rules for one sales person that does not apply to another with the same numbers. Remember these are people not robots. The phone queues are not equal for everyone. This office has a rep for being a sweatshop which is a shame because it's in a great location. The turnover is 40%. Why?

    Pros

They pay well, you learn a lot about technical or communication skills

    Cons

People tend to be young and competitive, which makes things really gossipy and cliquey sometimes.

    Pros

Benefits and career opportunities make it a great place to start a career. Overall it is a good P&C carrier to build a career - or at least it was and is changing its culture.

    Cons

Killed their pension last year (replaced with cash based bonus), and creating a competitive GE mentality around cycling through talent. Caring less about their people and more about result.
