Former Employee - Rehabilitation Manager in Denver, CO
Former Employee - Rehabilitation Manager in Denver, CO

I worked at Life Care Centers full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The company tries to be adhere to its mission of providing good care for its customers. The therapy is provided by in-house staff and therefore is not contracted from an outside rehab company. They encourage growth and project development and reimburse for education.

Cons

The company has the typical pitfalls of a heavy corporate structure, i.e. different levels of management with divisions and regions. While the overall vision of the company may be oriented to customer care, what is done at the regional/divisional levels largely depends on the management style of these specific levels. It is unfortunate that changes in healthcare reimbursement are resulting in a shifting of focus from provision of best care to meeting economic targets, despite all best intentions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stick to your primary goal of providing care. Focus not just on numbers but first of all on the patients that have been entrusted to you and foster loyalty to the staff that is wiling to ride out this time of economic hardship with your organization.
