I worked at Life Fitness

Pros

Flexible work environment...in the field. Managers are usually supportive of strong efforts by their reps.

Cons

Not a lot of upward mobility. Usually have to re-locate to move up with this company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to evaluate product lines and adjust faster to the changing marketplace in the health club world.

I have been working at Life Fitness

    Pros

Work life balance is important to everyone. Keeping fitness as a priority is also important. The atmosphere is usually laid back and casual.

    Cons

Lack of communication between top managment and employees, not much room for advancement in your career, isolation between different departments with in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to get all employees involved in meetings. I feel like often employees are left out and communication is not always the best.

I have been working at Life Fitness full-time

    Pros

    *Entrepreneurial
    *Energetic
    *Great people
*Awesome leadership from the top-down (Chris is a dream CEO)
*The perks and benefits are amazing
    * Global company (opportunity for international travel)
*The company isn't just talking the talk about employee health & wellness...they're walking the walk!
*Wellness also involves work/life balance and that can definitely be found here; department depending, there are times (revolving around specific projects or initiatives) that it's necessary to put in extra time so you don't fall behind. However, the atmosphere is fun and hard-work is recognized so the extra time and work feels worthwhile.
*The company is well-established but is still relatively fast moving and agile especially considering the size and age of the organization

    Cons

Any cons are far outweighed by the pros. Some people include the parent company, Brunswick, in their cons. Maybe I'm seeing the glass as half-full, but I like the perks being a smaller, innovative, and fast-paced company under the umbrella of a larger company provides (e.g. ability to move or be considered for roles within sister companies, discounts, & more!). Brunswick is fiscally conservative and can be risk averse both of which are necessary to run a sustainable and successful company in today's volatile economies. Can this be frustrating sometimes? Sure. Is this beneficial in the medium and long run? Absolutely.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep listening and doing what you're doing; the changes over the past couple years are definitely making a positive impact.
