I have been working at Life Technologies

Pros

It's a large, global company, so there's good networking opportunities.

Cons

Terrible health benefits package. As previous reviewers have said, they are constantly changing our "goals", "directions", "initiatives"... Frequent re-orgs, our benefits packages have changed significantly three out of the four years I've worked here.

    Pros

It was dynamic and could be challenging if you wanted to develop. The people I worked with was a large part of why I stayed especially when it was tough.

    Cons

The Foster City site was acquired by Invitrogen in 2008. There are changes to the focus on product lines, restructuring of business units and layoffs due to these changes.
