I worked at Life Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Not much other then a select few decent coworkers and one or two managers. They attempt to implement new procedures but change their minds and go in entirely different directions right around the time you get used to the original procedure.

    Cons

They think serving some cheap hotdogs and hamburgers once a month in the summer can buy loyalty. To many brownosers and tattletales. Sloppy management, treat employees like dirt.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

ALL managers at the Frederick,MD distribution site should be fired, bunch of snivelling whiners.

I have been working at Life Technologies as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Nice environment, nice people, good training systems (at least awareness to arrange different trainings to suit employees' / sometimes company's needs) , flexible time...In all, a place worth staying for one who's willing to follow the suit

    Cons

Team-work spirit is not very high (at least in my team, everyone's good at just doing their part of job). Cross-department cooperation is not very effective due to poor communications. Manager's skills are yet to be developed. Salary is so-so, on par in the industry to say the best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about how to really motivate employees as some tremendous talents are buried in daily routines.
