I have been working at Life Technologies as a contractor for more than a year

Pros

The people here are the best part of the job. They're friendly, helpful and overall just a great group of coworkers to have.

Cons

Big corporate culture, upper management is an isolated entity, no mutual communications or understanding. Job security is nonexistent.

I worked at Life Technologies as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

    - The best part was the people: friendly, intelligent, hard-working, fun, and supportive of interns
    - good investment into their R&D business unit
    - Intern program has lots of perks: outings, mentors, lunch series with executives
    - great place for experience and opportunities if you are studying Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or Bioengineering with an interest in Biotechnology and similar fields

    Cons

    - organizational changes taking place every couple of months: for example, the HR recruiter who recruited me for the internship was in a different position by the time I left
    - big company bureaucracy: Slow processing time because it's a big company
    - R&D scientists working there often worked 10 hour days or more, and occasionally so did the interns!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stick to a strategy, listen to your employees, and continue growing

I worked at Life Technologies as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The comapny has a solid program for interns. They are basically working to convince interns to work for the company.

    Cons

The company could use a different approach getting a new employees on board.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The team in charge of intership could have worked with managers towards achieving the goals.
