Life Time Fitness – “Fitness Training vs. Sales”
1 of 1 people found this helpfulPros
Great facility! There are plenty of things to do with my clients. There are many opportunities for sales-minded personal trainers.
Cons
To get ahead as a trainer you must excel with revenue production. Actual training skills (and results for your clients) don't matter towards career advancement unless you can continue to close more sales. Trainers are expected to clean the exercise equipment daily without compensation and work fulltime shifts regardless of client load.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize that many trainers are not motivated by sales and have no background for success as a salesperson. We do have education and skills in the science of health and fitness improvement. Many of us would make excellent leaders/managers but we cannot get ahead.
