Pros

fair benefits and opportunity for growth, some managers really believe in what they do, co-workers are fair with you, management is not always willing or able to work with individuals for various reasons. A lot of people hate working here but are only staying until the economy improves. Not a paradise place to work (as advertised) and many benefits have been scaled back or cut in whole

Cons

micro managed, but not overly so, just always feeling like a child and having someone continually check up on you, HR department does not work with you, some managers do not want to be there, and they reflect it, not a positive culture, if managers have favorite workers they get special treatment while others will be treated unfairly if not special.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

don't try to scare people into buying a product, find value within the product offering and go on the positive, don't target old people who will buy into what Montell Williams sells them. Also to HR don't believe rumors of co-workers and fire associates without proper knowledge, this has happened on multiple occasions and all you can do is sit and watch. It's almost like a comedy.

    Pros

fantastic benefits. before they were free 100%. now you have to pay, but theyre still great compared to the market.

Relaxed environment. nice people. You get to help people actually. Really enjoyed my time there Would love to be in the corporate sales side of the company.

    Cons

using software that cannot consistently run well. constantly DOWN.

management is too fickle and worried about hurting peoples feelings. and the company comes out with these great ideas but never tests them well enough before releasing them to the public to only find out from the public that it isnt working correctly and needs to be fixed in a rush.

They didn't required agents to up sell anything for like the first 4 years of the business. then once they had new products they only wanted agents to "educate " members on our new services and plenty of them refused to do so without being held accountable. It was really for some people because some managers did require it while others just lightly encouraged their agents to help the company actually make a profit.
SO basically no motivation to sell. Sure, there were contests and prizes and bonuses, but in the end it comes down to commission. Isn't that how a sales position works?

lastly, if you want to get into management, here is the secret to doing so. It's quite simple. doing this will mean you can avoid an entry level position on the phones and move straight into management without knowing much about the company and their products........Go work at Charles Schwab for a year or two. Then you are pretty much guaranteed a position as a manager or even a director.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Agree with the poster below. quite picking favorites....or at least quit showing it sooooo easily. also, when you want to make a change, research it a little better first, think about how people will respond, make a decision and stick to it. Looks really weak when you go back on so many things because employees complained because "i didn't sign up for a sales job". or " QA is too hard...."
    waaaa.

Lastly, the QA department is ridiculous. shorten the amount of calls that are to be monitored per month and get rid of half the QA agents. save some money.
