Current Employee – been working at Ligne Roset
Pros – Besides beautiful furniture design, my assistent manager, a few people at the corporate office that were helpful and an appreciative clientele, there weren't really any other significant pros.
Cons – Regionally, they offer very inconsistent leadership as the owner and the other 2 store managers were constantly over-riding each other's directives. On the corporate level, there were major inconsistencies as well. They would act as though it was our store, our money, our decision in one scenario. Then in another, seemingly related area they would direct our financial decisions and make decisions that should have been made by the store. Consequently, effective communication and respect were desperstely lacking between store and corporate management, which, naturally eroded employee confidence in all management.
Advice to Senior Management – To Corporate Management: Create clearly stated, fair, consistent and respectful guidelines for individual store owners/managers and live by them. Ask for store feedback, then be responsive.
To Store Management: More specifically define store goals and set actions. Work towards a supportive relationship with both corporate management and store employees. They also need to provide a current, effective sales training guideline/sales model.
