I worked at Limelight Networks full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Some good people, not overly tight on expenses and travel, Tempe location and offices are great. Company is well positioned with what should be a weak major competitor.

Cons

Cronyism - senior executives take care of themselves with very little concern for others. Management is always being distracted by some shiny light and fails to address problems with the core business.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the core business - you've got a well architectured network that can be a competitive threat to AKAM if you execute. Not sure if you really know what you are getting into in the SaaS business.

Get to work with many legacy technologies

    Cons

    Horrible uncaring management, unprofessional environment.

I have been working at Limelight Networks

    Pros

Ability to decide your own schedule
Free food in the Limelight Deli
Freedom to work on what interests you
Fellow employees are highly motivated and talented

    Cons

Too many things are still done by manual processes. Things that should take minutes often take hours or days because it is all done by hand.
Career paths are not well defined.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better define career paths. It would be good for all new engineer/development staff to work with NOC/Operations Engineering for several weeks to get a good understanding of the entire network.
