Pros

Decent benefits, that's about it.

Cons

Extremely SLOW commission turn around, SLOW reimbursment, constant nagging to work overtime and go "above and beyond" yet are never rewarded nor recognized for anything good you do. Upper management is two-faced and constantly lies--there is no clarity or direction--thus, confusing sales reps and clients alike. Some of the worst business decisions I have ever seen. Terrible salaries, what a joke! Sales reps should beware that it takes FOREVER to get pricing approved through upper managment because they are constantly nickle and diming people...that or they just enjoy giving everyone a hard time because they can. EXTREMELY HIGH TURNOVER, and thats how they like it. Area Managers are able to use low staffing as an excuse to save their own selves from being fired due to low sales--meanwhile its their stupid decisions that get everyone in a mess. Upper management is so corrupt, there is no integrity. It makes me sick. The day I quit was the happiest day of my professional career so far.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hopefully none of the corrupt management I had to deal with will survive the Linde buyout and end up on the curb where they can get a taste of their own medicine

    Cons

Management Team, my branch manager was extremely negative and self centered, in fact when she went with me on a lunch appointment she kept interrupting the doctors and nurses to tell her stories of her travels instead of listening to their stories.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a new branch manager who TRUELY CARES ABOUT THE PATIENTS rather than one whose goal is to "get outta here and move up the corporate ladder". Apparently at anyone elses cost.

I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Historically, management has had a steady hand that allows for job stability. Lincare has never ever laid off employees. (Although, once Linde sale goes through, layoffs won't hurt stock prices anymore so they could be likely). Somewhat fair pay, employee costs for benefits are competitive or lower than most employers. They like to see you work late, but its not usually required nor rewarded, generally you can expect a 40hr week with little surprises or demands for OT.

    Cons

Ultra conservative upper management is very hands off, they only focus on bottom line of the financials. This company is a money machine that runs lean, top sales people and upper management are only ones that reap benefit. Work environment varies from department to department. There is no plan, culture or upper management oversight for the work environment. Your job is as good or bad as your manager makes it. Depending on where you are working, you could be happy as could be or working in a miserable environment. Unless something draws attention to your manager, it's their show and they run it unchecked the way they see fit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only reason this company is successful is because most people naturally have integrity and some form of a decent work ethic and drive to perform. As management, you do nothing to foster this, you just hire people with skills and talent they have obtained elsewhere and then take and take and let people burn out and eventually they leave Lincare. Management only invests in employees so much as they are educated to not violate Heathcare/Medicare rules, you do nothing to help employees grow.
