Pros

Lincoln always offered great benefits (insurance, retirement and deferred compensation).
The management embraced sales distribution and therefore it is a great place for a salesperson to work.

Cons

During the financial crisis, layoffs had to occur. They laid off about 10% of the sales force. This was much like all of their competitors.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please keep the distribution focus and the great benefits and you will continue to attract the A quality sales professionals.

    Pros

    Great Benefits, weekends and holidays off, great addition to your resume

    Cons

    Difficult culture to adapt to, management were sneaky cowards, work-life balance depended on the position you had, too much favoritism, very bureaucratic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop the practice of only promoting people who think like you do....that is NOT diversity!

    Pros

    Quick recognition of potential, combined sick/vacation time package so you don't have to pretend to be sick, high 401k match, nice building/facility, transparent management style, lower than normal levels of office politics, dignified, respect for the employee and client, quick promotion, lots of encouragement, and the most impressive: they give it to you straight whether it's good or bad (recognizing when it's less than desirable, but set proper time expectations and stick to their word)

    Cons

    The cafeteria food was a little expensive, parking was difficult, has a little bit of a "big brother" aspect (although that's essential in the financial services industry)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the excellent work. For call center/processing roles, consider flexible work schedules for a few reasons: better coverage of volumes, a better work/life balance for many employees (4x 10 work week= less commuting costs), less costs to firm in overtime pay
