I have been working at LinkedIn

    Pros

Exposure to all sorts of new technologies. Great lecture series.

People are generally friendly. For a company that size it seems to have retained a fair bit of startup mentality.

Company devotes 1 day a month to hack on anything you want and awards prizes.

    Free food.

    Cons

Lots of politics which is not unusual per se; no more than I've seen in other places that I've worked at. Not a lot of visibility into what other groups are doing at any meaningful detail; weekly operations reports does not cut it.

Early employees typically get the choicest projects but it seems that management understands this problem and this seems to be changing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up with the good work!

Please make an effort to provide visibility into what other groups are doing.

    Continue to break up cliques.
