Fast growing business with inconsistent management practices

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

The company is growing at an incredible pace which makes LivingSocial a really exciting place to work. You are surrounded by a group of young, high energy, creative individuals who help support one another. The company has a lot of after work activities that make it easy to get to know others in the company outside of work.

    Cons

The company falls short in truly creating a culture where employees consistently feel valued. After work activities are great but at the end of the day these don't make up for inconsistent actions from some of the department heads and senior management team -- particularly in the evaluation of employee performance and what happens in the office. I've seen some very questionable actions taken over the past couple of months by management, particularly from an HR perspective. Hopefully this will improve as the company continues to grow but in the meantime it's been disappointing to see how the company has treated some of its employees.

    Advice to Management

Creating a great company culture takes a daily commitment. Take stock in the talent you have and avoid a rush to judgement or knee jerk reactions in responding to personnel issues.
