Culture of bullying, arrogance and nepotism among the leadership.

    I worked at LivingSocial full-time

    Pros

Company was on a true growth trajectory at one point.

    Cons

Culture is dominated by nepotism. Middle & senior managers were generally incompetent and uncaring. Most if not all had a tie to the senior leadership on the masthead. That led to a good deal of arrogance and bulling in the communication, with attempts to mask it through T Shirt giveaways and free beer. 70+ hour work weeks are not uncommon, accomplished through threats and peer pressure. Most of their more competent leadership has moved on, so the future only looks worse.

    Advice to Management

Develop & live by a real values system that is more inclusive. Managers should be promoted and judged by performance, not cronyism.
