Pros

Great culture. Great people. Very young demographic, but very smart and driven.

Cons

Maybe work-life overlaps with social life a bit too much, there's no separation.

Advice to Management

Keep it up.

I worked at LivingSocial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked with some of the best people ever in business. I'm only referring to my fellow sales team members and associates, not managers.

    Cons

    - The worst internal policies ever. From RSM to the VP of Sales, it reeks of robotic yesmen/women. - The systems put in place for quality control make absolutely no sense and stifle anything actually productive. - Assigned meaningless tasks on a daily/weekly basis that truly have no purpose. When asking managers directly, they will admit it in a roundabout way. - Zero career opportunities without really getting lucky with your market assignment. - No matter how many times they say they love employee feedback at a Sales Conference, know they truly do not. You will probably leave the company before you see anything implemented. - Even though this is a sales driven company, they have zero say in anything important. - Uber Top-Heavy. Most of the managers do nothing but hold fake conference calls and send out stupid emails about random industry news and useless facts. - Use of the word "Boom" couldn't be more annoying.

    Advice to Management

If you would listen to your salespeople. Most of them are a thousand times smarter than the managers.

I worked at LivingSocial full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall, it's a great place for post-grads to come in, gain experience, and learn things they may not have opportunity to elsewhere. LivingSocial is still learning as it goes so it allows people to jump into roles that may be challenging and offer a lot more responsibility than other companies may provide. Also: - Good benefits - Flexible hours, telecommuting, PTO - Young, energetic coworkers

    Cons

Because it is a young, changing, and learning company, it often has no idea what it's doing. Management tends to lack support and can leave employees left to their own devices. Some weeks can be 60 hours, others can be 20 depending on what someone decides to throw on or away from you. Once people learn and master their skills, they tend to realize how unprepared LivingSocial is and look elsewhere. This company definitely has a 2-3 year shelf life. Also: - Low pay - Limited growth opportunity - Poor leadership

    Advice to Management

Great and capable upper management is useless when middle management is ineffective and lackluster. To make the most of your eager and hardworking employees, provide them with managers that know what their doing and can help them grow, not limit their success.
