    Pros

If you are a manager and love saying Yes to your boss even when he is wrong, then this is the place for you. A good place, If you like being paid lots of money for doing useless, management tasks that have no real benefit to the company. A good place if you like spending all day, every day in meetings where nothing much is achieved.

    Cons

Very poor senior management who are destroying the company by trusting their software development to offshore companies and losing years of home-grown knowledge and expertise in the process in the false belief that they are saving money and impressing shareholders with staff reductions, knowing that the shareholders will not notice that costs are going up rather than down. The company has grown too big. If you work here, you are a very small cog in a huge machine that has grown out-of-control. Too many changes too often. You just get used to one change and then they assign a new manager who wants to change everything again. Management culture is - to get on you have to make an impact, i.e. change everything and produce statistics to prove how you have improved things. Culture of competitiveness rather than teamwork, encouraged by the performance ratings system, makes for very poor morale and little cooperation.

    Advice to Management

Not much point in this, since they do not listen. If you suggest an improvement it gets assigned to a committee who assigns you the task of making procedural changes and producing statistics to show how things have improved. The whole culture needs a complete overhaul (more changes!). Start with scrapping the performance rating system. Get back to small teams who work together and support each other.
