I have been working at Lloyds Banking Group

Pros

Huge international company with 300.000 employees and offices accross the world --> many opportunities to evolve
Great branding, Lloyds' name is excellent

Cons

Lack of organisation, communication is often not efficient, people are so proud to work for Lloyds that the level of turnaround is very low --> lack of experience from other companies.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote internal mobility, improve communication, work on cross departmental communication to ensure smooth evolution of projects.
Apart of that, Lloyds' is a great place to work

I have been working at Lloyds Banking Group

    Pros

Casual dress, decent pension, 30+ days paid holiday a year. Good team spirit amongst those that actually produce useful benefits

    Cons

There are mulitiple managers for each person that actually does stuff. This means that everything takes longer and deadlines are missed as half your working life is spent being reviewed, monitored, measured, peer ranked or simply beaten with a big stick. How all this adds value God only knows. Employees routinely go off for weeks at a time with stress. I took VR before it happened to me. If you get offered a job working for IT at LBG take it as a way of paying the bills whilst you look for something else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leave people alone to simply get on with their jobs. Peer ranking is a very poor tool especially when used against groups of 5 people in a team. If it wasn't so tragic it would be laughable. Other tactics I have heard of is giving people impossible targets so as to avoid paying a bonus. The company could be so much better if people were made to feel value. Then you might get 110% rather than the 40% or less you currently get out of people.

I have been working at Lloyds Banking Group

    Pros

    Great starting ground to learn
    Supportive of work life balance
Plenty of opportunities if UK based
Development and feedback given, praise given if earned.

    Cons

Slow career progression, at times length of service is seen to be of more value than capabilities
Lack of opportunities for growth outside UK
    Communication/streamlining between businesses is lacking
