I have been working at Lockheed Martin

Pros

In certain locations, employees can work a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off) by working 9 hour days. Great pay and benefits with an acceptance on the west coast of work-life-balance and flexible schedules.

Cons

Job security is purely dependent on contracts awarded to the company and their duration.
Lots of proposal work can mean working long hours. Managers don't receive compensation for overtime.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

At Lockheed Martin, you get to work on projects that no other company has the technical expertise to work on. You can have opportunities to work on cutting edge technologies.

    Cons

Because of defense spending budget cuts, Lockheed has reduced their benefits tremendously over the past few years in an attempt to become "more affordable"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should remember that the mission and user relations are more important than budget and schedules. At the end of the day, how we're viewed by our customers is the only thing that matters.
