    Pros

If you have the patience to wait for procurements and such, you have access to some of the best in technology development and substantial resources.

    Cons

In California, because the cost of real estate and employee salaries tends to be the highest in the country, we are often the last to receive contracts and also the first to be cut.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Well rounded employees are key in the current state of government funding cuts. The broader skill sets employees have, the greater likelihood they can continue to find new projects.

Learned a lot from the incredible talent pool.

I worked at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of the smartest people in the industry. Flex time, 9-80 work schedule, generous vacation time. The pay was very comparable to other corporations in the industry.

    Cons

The obsession with the people having their college degrees. I saw many talented and able bodied employees passed up for promotion because they lacked a degree, only to see a new college graduate come in and get a higher salary and more responsibility, having no experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Relish the fact that some employees may lack the piece of paper from a college but that does not mean the person is not qualified for the job.
