Pros

Training opportunities are great depending on your management. Stability - depending on which department you're in. Diverse opportunities for expanding or keeping your job.

Cons

You are replaceable, simply an asset to get the work done, so don't expect to be treated as a human with feeling and emotion. Behave as a machine to get the work done and you'll be okay if you do it well. Management and Union cannot get along - both act like little children arguing in a playground.

Advice to Management

None - they sincerely don't want to hear what they need to change and for sure don't want to listen to what it will honestly take to make a difference.

  1. Lots of reviews but few ever have the guts to leave. I did. And I'm VERY glad I did.

    Pros

Good training budget with CERTAIN projects, opportunities that do not exist elsewhere to work with DoD projects, nice networking, decent education benefits.

    Cons

Outdated technology, the DoD "crawl" where projects that could take a week take six, contracting benefits, contracting opportunities, salary freezes, major issues with DoD contracts right now.

    Advice to Management

Start moving out of the way to allow those who "do" to perform the miracles that they were hired to do. Motivate and mentor and start becoming a heat shield so that your team can thrive.

  2. Fantastic place to work with great leadership and a flexible work environment.

    Pros

Great leadership and good pay. Pay for performance, so if you work hard your pay will go up quickly.

    Cons

Large corporation that does have its fair share of politics. You do have to be aware of how the politics work and understand that sometimes politics will prevail and you have to learn from it and move on.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work
