Pros

Flex 40 means that as long as you get your 40+ hours in and support the meetings you need to support, you can work any hours you want. While this also means they expect you to make up missed time like doctors appointments and even sick time if possible, it is a great deal.

The people I worked with there are the most intelligent, hard working and yet down-to-earth people I have ever met. It was a pleasure going to work every day.

Cons

The company can no longer afford to reward loyalty or even hard work. With tight budgets and fewer and smaller contracts, it is all cold numbers and superficial criteria. Yes, the stock price is at an all time high, but lower-level employees don't feel like the good days are back.

Advice to Management

Please understand that after several years of major reductions in force, every single employee is above average. While it is nice to reward performance, many employees who were considered high performers a few years ago find themselves closer to the bottom even after increasing their value to the company.

    Pros

Independence - opportunities to make decisions and take responsibility.
Growth - increasing levels of responsibility as desired.
Technical - the work itself is challenging but meaningful.
Benefits - great medical, dental, life, and other insurance; 401k matching; events, etc.
    Great pay

    Cons

Management is often caught up in the political environment that comes with corporate structure.
New ideas are often not appreciated or unheard.
A rating system that compares coworkers, often unjustly.
Can lay you off in a moments notice, regardless of whether you are doing great work or not (no time to prepare).
