I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time

Pros

The salary and benefits exceed the range in the area. The environment allowed for a great work and family balance.

Cons

Unfortunately due to a downturn in the economy and government spending there have been employment reductions and consolidation of work locations.

    Pros

Very diversified company with opportunities to compete for positions of you interests throughout the entire corporation.

    Cons

Respect for the individual has gone out the window with the new push for higher profits and shareholder value. Employees are under continuous risk of layoff.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Large network of mentors and coaches available to those who seek help. Many opportunities to those who seek to try new things, work at different locations, and expand the experience and technical base.

    Cons

Working as a government contractor means things often move slowly and there is plenty of bureaucracy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the new employees and figure out a way to keep them engaged and excited to stay with the company.
