I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time

    Pros

You get to work on really amazing things and work with some incredibly talented people. There is always something interesting to do.

    Cons

Work/life balance is hit or miss depending on the program. Very limited opportunities for upward growth and the performance evaluation system is a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talent retention, especially the younger employees, really needs to become a higher priority.

  2.

It was a good learning experience and a place to get a good "big company" foundation and perspective.

I worked at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Big company with many locations, if you need/want to move somewhere it's possible to find work without leaving the company.
Good place to learn policies and live within a culture of best practices

    Cons

Upward movement is difficult and because of its size you are "sheltered" from the opportunity to see and participate in the bigger picture many times. Difficult to advance as a high performer with no gray area in the HR policies and current movement to de-level many senior personnel.
