I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty Stable, average salary, possibly to get a great work schedule.

    Cons

They make you compete against other people in your pay grade just to justify not giving a percentage of the group no pay increase. Not even a cost of living increase. Their raises are small like 2 and 3% if you get one. The best way to get a decent increase is during negotiations for a new job.

This company is the most afraid to make changes. If they have been doing it one way for a long time, you'll hear "we've been doing it this way for 50 years", even if it is the wrong way.

They will do anything to get the product out the door on time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Commitment's are talked about in a negative way by most employees. No one should have to be a creative writer and excellent at stats to get a raise. Commitment's are simply a way for the company to save money by putting employees into categories based on how well they brown nose.
People with 30 years out here say they would never recommend this place to family members.

I worked at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, decent salary, and OK job security. Recognized name. Established processes and clearly-defined hierarchy. Corporate vision is clearly defined. Stable.

    Cons

Large corporation that can get bogged down with processes/procedures and cannot react in an agile fashion. Seniority with the company is often rewarded over merit. Easy to get lost in overall org. Lots of layers of management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize and promote talent from within more efficiently. Streamline org structure to eliminate unnecessary layers of management. Loosen procedural handcuffs for managers near front line.
