I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Can independently run your book.
No micro managing
Good pay and flexibility (although this depends on the unit manager)
Flat organization

Cons

Flat organization - if you want to be a broker and that is it, this is the best firm to do it at. If you want more of a career path, company is too flat to provide opportunities.

I worked at Lockton Companies as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

A great first exposure to the healthcare industry. Got to work with many talented and experienced professionals. Was assigned a variety of tasks and projects.

    Cons

There was a considerable amount of administrative/filing work, but I was able to learn a surprising amount from it.

Former Employee - Account Manager in Denver, CO

I worked at Lockton Companies full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The work, culture, and mission of Lockton made it a great company. There was work-life balance and plenty of flexibility for time off. Nice bonus opportunities, competitive base salary, decent health benefits, great retirement plan match, growth opportunities, other perks for discounts on services, events, etc.

    Cons

Not flexible with option to work from home, a lot of gossip/low morale issues due to departmental changes making for a challenging work environment at times, long and painful hiring process, growth opportunities available but difficult to advance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide better training to supervisors and unit managers to allow them to better develop their associates/direct reports for career advancement opportunities and don't hold back from putting someone in a new position because they are a top performer in their current position.
