Current Employee - Associate Manager in Mumbai (India)
Current Employee - Associate Manager in Mumbai (India)

I have been working at Lodha full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Offers a good pay package and considers your previous experience irrespective which industry you belong to, as long as the previous profile has relevance to their requirement (job opening).

Cons

The company is part of a progressive sector (real estate) which was till recently, very primitive in its approach. So, if there has to be any downside it is related to the sector but not specific to this company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Experience matters here. If you are looking for a change in industry along with a decent hike in your salary, this is a place to be.

    Pros

Friendly Environment, with no attitude at all.

    Cons

Need to review some of the employees, caught under several thefts, still working with Lodha, nothing has changed just, transfered, bcoz of that sincere working people gets terminated. MD, please see into it, innocents like me don't get such treatment from the company. & still if you think you are best, you need to review your policy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please don't encourage people who are caught for misusing companies given advantages. Only a enquiry is dont, & then the person is transfered, instead of Terminating take a strict and serious action, which will help innocents like me to be in the company.

Unprofessional company, promoter run culture, career threatening if you are lured by pay package and fancy designation.

I worked at Lodha full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay, pay and pay alone. It pays pretty good salaries, big hikes in salary, has some talented people in Sales & marketing. Fair bit of learning and high growth opportunities. Premier B school grads beware, be careful before joining this company. It can be a career threatening move myself being from a top B school. I would suggest prospective employees not to be lured by high packages & fancy designations, talk to people inside the company before joining. Very few companies will be okay with hiring you after you stay 2-3 yrs in here. Real estate does have a high -ve perception & other players in this industry are equally unprofessional except for a few. Little professional learning apart from getting knowledge of the real estate sector. You do have fair amount of responsibility given to you at a fairly early stage.

    Cons

Unprofessional culture, after all what can you expect of a company owned by a politician. Culture in S&M is worst, make you work like crazy and without planning. Plans are only on paper, you will find decisions changing every minute - decision based on pure hunch factor. Make you work more than half the weekends, coming here will surely result in a divorce if you are married. They have a habit of hiring freshers from premier campuses or from directly from other industries, lure them with fancy designations & packages and make them work like donkeys. There are students from IIM A, B, L, XLRI, ISB, etc. who are not able to shift to any decent company after working in here bcos of the -ve perception they have towards real estate. The marketing work that they do at Lodha has no depth to it unlike FMCGs, telecom, etc. Marketing in real estate is still at a very nascent stage & thus growth opportunity is there but doesn't make sense for fresh MBA recruits to join here just after college. Probably later in the career if you want some different industry work ex you can try your hand in here. They have a habit of handing product launches to you every 1 month - and my god how many launches do they have and how many times do they change their decision and without logic. You can get an idea of the culture in the place with the high attrition that they have especially in S&M where it is around 40-50%.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please take a stand, stop this randomness in decision making. Have some team bonding activities, parties, outings, etc. rather than only work day in day out. Product launches can be scheduled better and ease out the work during launch with greater team size - employees can have 5-6 hr sleep during launches rather than going on for days in a row staying at office without sleep. Please do not go there to premier B schools & hire students on day 0 like crazy - stop duping students, tell them about the culture & work environment rather than duping them by saying u are consultants and entrepreneurs. And PRs in IIMs/good B schools please stop bringing this company to campus on day 0 & 1. This company does not deserve to be at the top of the placements. And respect people for gods sake, you can't call people dogs & pigs in the face just because they are under you. Hire more people and have bigger launch teams to help ease out the pressure during the launches.
