I worked at Loffler full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

OK benefits, generous annual PTO rollover, field employees allowed the same holiday schedule as clients. Environment very dependent on which location field employees were assigned to. Hourly positions means the stress of work can usually be left at work at the end of the day.

Cons

Quick turnover without a competent hiring process. Leaving my position meant needing to write up my own job description because my manager was incapable of describing what I do to potential replacements. Inadequate time to train in replacement, which means the next person down the line will get even less training. Management in such a panic over losing a client over a qualified employee, that they forgot how to do their own jobs. In fighting among management due to the poaching of each others' employees in order to provide enough coverage.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to do what your employees do in order to step in at the last moment as necessary. You tell employees to be proactive rather than reactive, practice what you preach. Fear of losing clients should go hand in hand with fear of losing great employees, they're the backbones of the company and you show them very little respect.

    Pros

Not paying the government rate for mileage? No, that's not it. Um, the new OpCenter on third floor is pretty cool.

    Cons

    1. Low pay
    2. Management does not have a clue what is going on
    3. MANY complaints of the helpdesk being sub-par from customers
    4. Too many steps to get anything done. While parts and other things are working through the long, drawn out process of Loffler, the customer suffers.
    5. VERY low moral in most areas.
    6. Upper management think they are 'gods' and can just treat employees however they want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Nothing will ever be truly fixed because of the top management. Lurie, Loffler and Don don't actually listen to anything anyone have to say...they just rule the domain. Until thesickened head is cut off, like a tic, the sickness remains.

It's been a great place to get entry-level experience, but growing beyond that has been a challenge.

I have been working at Loffler full-time

    Pros

Usually, one can have a great experience within the team that they are placed.

Opportunities to acquire a variety of skills and knowledge based on the diverse responsibilities of the employees

    Cons

The gap between management and employees is expansive and most of the managers have no clue what it actually is that their employees do on a daily basis.

There is little to no communication for "field" employees to know what other opportunities are available for growth.

Poor training methods - you essentially learn on the fly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to actually learn what the lower level employees do on a regular basis and be prepared to back-fill yourself if the need arises.
Have "kick-off" meetings be handled more professionally. Many employees feel that they are being talked down to during these meetings.
