I have been working at Lord & Taylor

    Pros

    Employee discount
    Vendor Gratis
Lord and Taylor treats their customer's well.

    Cons

There's no work/life balance. The schedule makes it nearly impossible to have a personal or social life. When time off is needed to attend a family event you're told to ask others in the department if there's someone willing to change their schedule with you. It's highly unprofessional and creates tremendous resentment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat the employees better starting with paying them a "living wage". Paying $8.00/hr even in this recessionary economy is exploitive, especially when the store and many of it's employees live in Bergen County, New Jersey---one of the richest in the nation. Shame on you Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Baker. Nordstrom's treats and pays their employees better than you.
