Pros

good salary. their salary for postdocs almost as twice much as academic
nice staff. generally, you will have a very nice adviser.
unlimited funding. money for research is plenty.

Cons

isolated city, in the middle of nowhere
if you are not a us citizen, forget about being converted

Advice to Management

I hope there are less restriction towards foreigners. way too many meaningless regulations. also staff should share the resources better to improve productivity.

    Pros

Great mission; great scientists; wonderful benefits; norther New Mexico is beautiful place to live

    Cons

Senior management is almost all new as of 2006; they show limited commitment to the overall health of the institution

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate the risk avoidance stance you seem to be taking.

    Pros

Great family friendly town. Lots of cool science being done. Plenty of wilderness and outdoor activites close by. Good Pay and Benefits.

    Cons

Constant struggle to bring in funding to pay for team members limits productive work time. New corporate leadership is more about the bottom line than doing top quality science. Remote location can be a drag for those who like to live in large cities.

    Advice to Management

Take time to listen to the people doing the real work and try to stand behind the science that we do.
