No opinion of CEO

Pros

Paid vacation and illness. Leave of absence for Professional Growth Study. Many Holidays off and time off to recoup.

Cons

Some teachers aren't that great or don't care so much (that's not to say there aren't some awesome ones there that don't love the kids because there are) and this can be disheartening. Also, if you are not on salary, like a teacher is, then you get time off without pay and it makes managing through off track time difficult. Also, it is hard now to work your way up to teaching positions as a paraprofessional to teacher due to all the recent cuts in staff.

Advice to Management

More information that is shared with teachers should also be shared with paraprofessionals. We feel left out much of the time.

    Pros

In a year round school, you work 4 months..and get 1 and half months off vacation. It is paid, so you won't worry about not paying rent when you're on vacation. You are the boss in the classroom. You can utilize your own imagination and creativity to make your classroom wonderful. You get off at 3pm, when everyone works till 5 or 6pm. You can also work part time as a tutor after work to compensate for the low pay at this district. You also get all the major holidays off, where most companies only give you time off during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    Cons

The pressures of test results...and low pay.

    Advice to Management

Treat us like equals, not students.
