I have been working at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores full-time

Pros

Fast growing, profitable company. Good people and work atmosphere.

Cons

Rapid growth has led to some frustrating changes in IT processes and project management. It takes far too long for a simple change request from the business to be fulfilled because of adherence to recently established dogmas within the culture.

Advice to Management

Find a way to empower the IT department and software development team to get things done quickly rather than coming up with more red tape that ultimately slow things down. You're not producing software for sale to third-parties in which rigid quality controls make more sense.

I have been working at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Establishing core group of hourlys, store runs efficient and can be fun and profitable for all.

    Cons

Consistent descrepencies with manual invoices; archaic ordering and inventory system. Where's the recyclable non profit income from cardboard and plastic? Pray your GM is a teacher, if not, stuck with the vulnerability stigma. Sea gull management approach towards stores, that is, fly in every three months, review prior three months, give lots of notes and fly out.

    Advice to Management

Emails are a babysitting reminder for AAs and MMs not invoicing properly. Monthly inventory should include product inventory counts added vs dollar amount only, hence better onhand ordering accuracy, eliminating unnecessay redunancy of counting product everyday. MMs ought to have GMs as mentors not fellow MM.

I have been working at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Golden Heart Awards, Affordable Benefits, Employee Assistance Program, Guidance Resources, Paid Vacations, Fair wages. CMN activities are fun.

    Cons

It has its days like any other job but because of customers. Not coworkers. Don't really have much time for college or anything like I'd like.
