I have been working at Lowe's

Pros

A lot of good people, can be really fun. Load the truck and your out the door, no one breathing down your neck and they recognize when you do a good job.

Cons

Management is not always cut out to actually be management. Some spend way too much time on the company phone for personal phone calls. They can be very forgetful, and depending on store manager, very understaffed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please pay more attention when your employees go above and beyond and compensate better for the employees that go the extra mile.

I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

pay is better than most, not very difficult job, not too stressful as part time employee, not forced to promote credit cards or anything, but asked to. not hassled by management constantly. at my store it seems like family, and its very nice to work in a garden!

    Cons

working with all weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, night and day rain or shine. maybe some hateful co workers, but thats at every job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

maybe hire some managers with experience in this store

I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at Lowe's Home Improvement is they are flexible with their schedules. They will work with you if you are still in school to be able to work and be able to attend all your classes. They provide opportunity to move up in the company. Cross Training is available, all you have to do is express your interest in learning something new. Overall this company is great to work for!

    Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Lowe's Home Improvement is sometimes it is hard to move up due to associates being in the higher positions not moving out of the store or moving up into higher positions, it may take a while to move up. If you are full time, you must be able to have a flexible schedule, you may be scheduled to come in at 5:00am and be there as late as 11:00pm so if you have a family, sometimes it is hard to see them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice to management at Lowe's Home Improvement is to be fair among all employees. You may hang out with associates out of work, but do not show favoritism in the workplace. You may not like specific associates but you have to remember this is a business. Do not spread rumors and if you notice that rumors are being spread, you need to squash it.
